Life Stream Warlock Patron
Here's a cleaner version of streamer warlock
I would kill someone to play in a DnD campaign where I was able to use the Modern Magic UA.
I've DMed for a campaign like that before but I wanna be a player.
Here’s some homebrew modern magic spells I made, yeehaw
Disrupt Walkway
3rd-level transmutation
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: 200 feet
Components: V, S
Duration: Concentration
You choose a point within range, causing all concrete within a 50-foot radius of the point to warp and shake. The area is considered difficult terrain and any creature within the spells radius when cast or starts their turn within the spell must make a Dexterity saving throw or be knocked prone.
Personal Hotspot
1st-level conjuration
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: Self (30-foot radius)
Components: S
Duration: 1 hour
You emanate wi-fi in a 30-foot radius from yourself. You create the network name and can choose to set a password if you’d like.
Transport via Screens
6th-level conjuration
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: 10 feet
Components: V, S
Duration: 1 round
This spell creates a magical link between a Medium or larger inanimate screen within range and another screen, at any distance, on the same plane of existence. You must have seen or touched the destination screen at least once before. For the duration, any creature can step into the target screen and exit from the destination screen by using half of their movement.
A collected list of the technomagic spells I’m using in my modern dnd game I’ll be running
Magical firearms? How cheeky! This essentially is a hand held beholder, a magical revolver that blasts eye beams instead of bullets
Eye of the Beholder
Weapon (revolver), very rare (requires attunement)
A wizard who wanted the powers of the mighty beholder crafted a gun to act the same way as the eye lasers of a beholder. Instead of bullets, all attacks from this gun are similar to one of a beholder's eye beams. As an action you may expend one charge to roll 1d10 and fire the corresponding beam. The gun gains back 1d10 + 2 charges each dawn, it can hold up to 10 charges.
(1) Charm Shot. The target must make a DC 16 Wisdom saving throw, the target is charmed until harmed by you or an ally. (2) Paralyzing Shot. The target must make a DC 16 Constitution saving throw or become paralyzed, it can make another save at end of each of its turn.
(3) Fear Shot. The target must make a DC 16 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened of you, it can make another save at end of each of its turn.
(4) Slowing Shot. The target must make a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw or its speed is halved, it can take no reactions, and it can either take an action or a bonus action.
(5) Enervation Shot. The target must make a DC 16 Constitution saving throw, it takes half damage on successful save, and 36 (8d8) necrotic damage on a failed save.
(6) Telekinetic Shot. The target must make a DC 16 Strength saving throw, target moved 30 ft in any direction, the target is restrained until your next turn.
(7) Sleep Shot. The target must make a DC 16 Wisdom saving throw, on a failed save the target falls asleep and remains unconscious, this shot has no effect on Constructs or Undead
(8) Petrification Shot. The target must make a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw, on a failed save the target begins to turn to stone and is restrained. The target can make another save at end of its turn, on another failed save the creature is petrified.
(9) Disintegration Shot. The target must make a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw, it takes 45 (10d8) force damage on a failed save, If this damage reduces the target to 0 hit points, it is disintegrated and turned into a pile of finely ground ash.
(10) Death Shot. The target must make a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw, on a failed save it takes 55 (10d10) necrotic damage, if the target is reduced to 0 hit points it dies instantly.
Warlock Patron: Life Stream
I've been making a modern fantasy DnD world for like over a year now and may finally be able to DM it soon. A lot is borrowed from the Unearthed Arcana: Modern Magic and I updated a lot from the D20 modern Urban Fantasy book, but I brewed a fair amount of original stuff as well, and this is my life stream warlock. Essentially their patron would be the fantasy equivalent of a Twitch chat, who can help or hinder them appropriately.
*The spells with an asterisk are new/updated technomagic spells
Life Streamer
You are a popular streamer on the Life Stream streaming service, granting you arcane powers. Recorded by the astral camera, you have the ability to share your exploits and adventures for those to watch, and gain a following along the way. You also have a chat which you can read telepathically and respond to, though it may be helpful and supportive one moment they can turn fickle and rude the next.
Expanded Spell List
Life Streaming lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.
Spell Level Spells
1st Identify, Silent Image
2nd aMessage*, Augury
3rd Create Food and Water, Leomund’s Tiny Hut
4th Locate Creature, Synchronicity*
5th Instant Connectivity*, Legend Lore
Bonus Proficiencies
At 1st level, you gain proficiency in Performance checks.
Followers Whim
At 1st level, you can address your chat directly to ask for help. You have advantage on Intelligence check and divination spells can be cast without using a spell slot. Whenever you cast a divination spell or make an Intelligence check the DM rolls a d6. On 1-5 the information given to you is accurate, on a 6 the DM gives you false information.
Wish List
At 6th level, you can ask your chat for donations or gifts. At the start of each long rest, roll 1d10 for eldritch invocation you know, and how many warlock spells you’ve cast since your last long rest, you receive a donation equal to the result in whatever way you want to receive the money, physical, check, into bank, etc. Whenever you roll a natural 20, you can roll 2d10 and receive a donation equal to the result.
Your followers can also send you items from your wish list, a list of magical or mundane items your character desires, you can have a wish list with as many items as you have warlock levels. The more expensive the item or the rarity of any magical item can affect how likely you are to receive it. Whenever you gain a level in warlock you roll d100. On 1-50 you don’t receive anything, 51-75 the DM chooses a mundane item of less than 1000 dollars or magic item uncommon or common, 76-90 a mundane item of 5000 dollars or less or any magic item up to the very rare rarity, and 91-100 any mundane item or any magic item with rarity up to legendary.
Clip it
At 10th level, you can choose to clip moments from your day, saving them to your Life Stream profile to access later. Once per day you can save 1 minute of time and save it as a viewable clip. These clips are saved in your Life Stream profile and can only be accessed by you at any time. You can save a number of clips equal to your Charisma Modifier (minimum of one). Once per short rest, you can magically summon the clip to play on a 5 feet by 5 feet astral screen. If the clip you play has you casting a warlock spell, you can cast that spell through the screen without using a spell slot and you can choose the target for the spell.
Astral Facecam
At 14th level, you can freely travel into your Life Stream account data. As an action you can swap places with your astral camera, transporting your material body into the astral plane, and creating a Tiny sized screen that you can sense through. The screen is immune to all conditions and damage types except force and has an AC 20, 50 hit points and a hover speed of 20 feet. While in the astral plane, you don’t need food or water and don’t age.
As an action you can return to the material plane in the same spot the screen was. If you or the screen are reduced to 0 hit points you immediately return to the material plane as well. When you leave the astral plane the screen is dispelled.
Gun Fu monk
The last of my original urban fantasy homebrew subclasses is my john woo and john wick inspired monk. Not much else to say about this one just meant to let players play as a gun kata master.
Monk: Way of Gun-Fu
A master of gun-fu is not only a masterful martial artist, but is just as deadly with a gun or two. A gun-fu monk in combat is a hail of fists, kicks, and bullets directed towards one target after another.
Gun-Fu
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with firearms, tinker’s tools, and Acrobatics. You can also make melee weapon attacks with firearms as if it were an unarmed strike and ranged firearm attacks within 5 ft of a creature are not at disadvantage.
Bullet Time
At 3rd level, whenever you hit a target with a firearm weapon attack, you can spend 1 ki point to take the dodge action or to reload your firearm.
Rain of Bullets
At 6th level, you can wield two firearms without the heavy property and can attack with both weapons for each attack action. Your firearm attacks are considered magical for the purpose of overcoming resistances and immunity to nonmagical damage.
Run and Gun
At 11th level, once per turn if you hit a target with your firearm you can spend 1 ki point to move up to your movement speed. If you hit a creature wielding a firearm with a melee attack you can spend 1 ki point to attempt to disarm and attack them with their weapon. The creature must succeed a Dexterity saving throw or you take their firearm and can attack that creature as a reaction.
Army of One
At 17th level, when you make firearm attacks against more than one creature on your turn, you have advantage on all of those attacks. If you miss an attack with your firearm you can spend 1 ki point to attack that target again.
