One shot character concept idea, might be trying dnd out.

An Elderly owlin Mage, who is seeking out a friend who stopped replying to letters. They don't know if that friend is in need of help or has simply passed away as the old tend to do, but they want to know the answer.

A character that explores uncertainty, grief, and the ability to be brave and to try new and daring feats no matter your age.

My very first DnD character - Sonnet!

I never actually got around to drawing her, for some reason - even though I've been playing her for... Wuh, 4 years, I think? But, here she is now! =3

She's an owlin swashbuckler, used-to-be street rat - now part of an aristocratic family... If you looked up "spoiled princess brat" in a dictionary, her picture would be the example. Mischievous, but with a heroic streak! At least, that's the goal... Either way, she is a polar opposite of her older sister, Canon - she's energetic, trusting to a fault, and has absolutely no sense of self preservation (for better or for worse).
