Forgive the flat parts. I have moments of being a little off key but this song was VERY improved LOL. Thank you to @riskpig​ for @dndwithpiggy​! THE CHILDREN OF LILITH is AMAZING! Also by the re quest of @wcjobber. So this is the track my Half Elf Acolyte Neutral (Basically lawful) Good Bard of Milil and her writing this after being sent to prison for hitting money out of someone’s hand for insulting her god. She wasn’t a very happy little squishball. To truely understand the humor in this please imagine someone with the innocence of the sweetest 12 year old who’s never been away from her extremely religious family going out and getting thrown into a cushy prison for an hour. And thinking she’s now a badass. Yes that is my Meilil!

The Tale of Liekash

Okay, so here’s a little ficlet I wrote for @dndwithpiggy involving one of @riskpig‘s npcs and @wcjobber‘s character Edward. My character Wrenna doesn’t like Edward much so she’s like, constantly bringing up/refuses to let go of anything he’s made any show of dislike about (Like, he’s okay or whatever but he made them go through the woods when there was a perfectly acceptable road!!! And now there’s a shadow creature, thanks Edward. Wrenna didn’t sign up for this nonsense.) And Liekash is too good for Edward!! There’s also @tonksiefea‘s Meilil, @ladymaliwan’s Demia, @almostvivian‘s Dia, @msmeiriona‘s Solsareen and @stardust-android‘s Aubrey. It’s a little unpolished, but I like it!

Wrenna watched Liekash heave a heavy, forlorn sigh as Edward and the rest of her party began to filter out of A Day in Paradise. A mischievous thought began to brew, and a smirk grew across her face.

“Liekash,” Wrenna spoke up, sliding up next to the other human woman, “I have a story I’d like to try out- would you be willing to listen? Be my test audience, let me know if it’s decent or not?”

Her party heard her and stopped their march.

“Oh, a story!” Meilil gasped, skipping closer, “I’d love to hear it!” Dia and Demia just seemed to shrug, and Solsareen’s expression remained blank. Aubrey shifted, his gaze traveling from one party member to another.

Edward studied her with narrow eyes.

Good, good.

Liekash lead them back inside the tavern, to the bar. Wrenna dropped herself down into a bar stool, folding her hands atop the bar. A Day in Paradise was fairly empty, most patrons beginning to filter out.

“What kind of story is it?” Meilil asked, perching on the stool next to her fellow bard. The others joined, with Liekash stepping behind the bar. She picked up a rag and glass. The rest fell in place around the counter.

“Oh, a bit of this and a bit of that,” Wrenna tried to taper down the grin that threatened to split her face, “But I suppose it’s more of a romance.”

“Oh, I love a good love story!”

“Oh,” Liekash sighed, trying her best to subtly glance at Edward (everyone noticed, poor girl) “A romance.” There was such a heavy longing in that word that could have broken even a soldier’s heart.

“It has a happy ending.” Wrenna promised, pulling out a thin piece of ribbon from her pocket. She began to twist the hair ribbon about her fingers nervously. She was starting to maybe regret this decision- she’d told poems to her party, yes, but never a real tale.

“A happy ending, you say?” Dia smirked over a mug of beer she’d charmed from Liekash.

Wrenna rolled her eyes, “Not that kind of happy ending!”

“Please, I wanna hear it!” Meilil frowned, her brows furrowing at Dia’s turn of phrase.

“Okay,” Wrenna sat up straight, her fingers twisting the ribbon furiously, “So…”

“Once there was a beautiful woman,

Trapped by a brutish bugbear,

Mean and ugly and inhuman,

Who chained her to his lair.

 The woman was a sweetest gel,

Once a true lady of the night,

Now she no long wished to sell,

But the bugbear kept her in his might,

Enchanted by her voice’s bell.

 ‘Til one fair day, who did arrive,

But a Knight Cleric and a Faithful Monk,

Who had been charged to find the girl alive,

By her family for a bit of gold in a chunk,

 They faced the bugbear

Deep in his lair,

 Down he went,

Completely spent

 Taken down by two well placed hits.

 They found the girl, deep in that cave,

Both struck by her shinning beauty,

She was no longer a slave.

The Cleric and Monk completed their duty,

 The girl offered her own reward for her release,

And the Cleric found he could not refuse,

With the bugbear deceased and ceased,

And the Monk finding the treasure for reuse,

Missed the kiss the girl and Cleric did share.”

“So, what do you think?” Wrenna asked at the end of her tale, willfully ignoring Edward’s furious glare, “I’m not sure about making a bugbear a villain, I had thought maybe an orc or dragonborn but that seems speciest. I had thought maybe a bullywug but I didn’t want to make Dia upset.” She leans over the bar, resting her elbows on the counter, her chin in her hands.

“I, uh, I thought it was nice?” Liekash blushed, ignoring the snickers from Dia and Demia. Solsareen rolled her eyes, grumbling under her breath.

“Well, that’s done, time to go.” Edward interrupted, jumping away from the bar. Wrenna continued to ignore the cleric, pleased to finally get some revenge for the Wet Woods.

“Well,” She stressed, her grin finally splitting her face, “I have another story to share.”

“Oh?”

“It involves our good cleric and his pants around his ankles.”

Wrenna couldn’t help but cackle just how red Liekash’s face turned, and the pure embarrassed fury on Edward’s. Aubrey rested his head in his hands, groaning at his party’s antics.

Dia raised her mug in salute.

So, my girl Wrenna's backstory came up in children of lillith today and part of me is kinda excited to talk about her bad life decisions and the other part (the more Wrenna half)is terrified of facing the consequences of those bad life choices.
