accustomed as she is to russian winters, the chill of danish soil ought not to even penetrate the silk of her gown… but, caught without a fur to keep her warm, tatiana finds herself freezing. not enough to go back inside, however. elsinore’s court is chilled for a very different reason, and even a foreign visitor cannot but take notice of it. better to stand out here, watching flakes of snow lazily flutter down to settle over the gardens, than inside observing something personal.
‘ it is nothing, ’ she replies, hugging her arms tighter. dipping into her reserves of politeness, tatiana even manages to offer the prince a smile. the russian royals are guests at danish court, after all ;; it wouldn’t do to offend anyone. ‘ the weather is so fine tonight… i only wanted to see it for a second. it reminds me very much of home. ’
