I can’t remember if you’ve answered this before, but how would Pokemon who evolve via trade in the mainline games evolve in the Seekers ‘verse (like the himbo Machamp)?

And I haven’t thought about trade evolutions before, actually! 🤔 In PMD games and Legends Arceus, trade evolutions occur through the Link Cable/Linking Cord item, which is said to exude “a mysterious energy that makes you feel a strange sense of connection.”

In the anime/mainline games, trade evolution seems to be triggered by the actual process of going into a Pokeball and traveling through the box/trade system, which could provide the same kind of “mysterious energy” or radiation needed for the change to take place.

I’m gonna say that in Seekers, trade evolutions are triggered by a more traditional woven “Linking Cord” that’s imbued with psychic energy. Specifically, psychic energy from a ‘mon who knows the move Ally Switch, wherein “the user teleports using a strange power and switches places with one of its allies.”

Simply using the move Ally Switch on a Graveler or Machoke would work, too! That’s how trade evolutions were discovered in the first place. But back when evolution was still possible, it was much easier (and more lucrative) for psychic types to just make Linking Cords that they could then easily ship and sell.

He’s 23! And El was 20 when she arrived in Alola, she should turn 21 in just a few months within the comic-verse. Man, I should really update that old reference-sheet of their heights and ages I made years ago... I think it’s still linked on the Masterpost

Oh, absolutely. But not all the time. Not because I’m against swearing, but because it’s so much funnier if you place a 1-per-season “fuck” limit. Then it’s like...who’s gonna say it?? When?? What situation will reward us with the elusive FUCK?? That’s the kind of dramatic tension missing from Doctor Who.

I think the way you've been slightly editing AaTN (mostly for continuity's sake) has had a fascinating effect on Rougina's character. When I first read it in idk, 2017, she felt like a Mother Gothel-esque emotional manipulator. But when I reread it last year it felt much less sinister, and more misguided. I believed she genuinely cares for Alice and isn't being manipulative out of a need to control her, but out of love. tl;dr you've made fantastic editing choices!!!

also when i first wrote chapter 1 I didn’t have as good a grasp on Rougina as I do now, so being able to go back and tweak that first scene was *chef kiss* so good and right

plus it’s always a million times more interesting to me to have a villain character be less “haha i’m evil” and more “cool motive still murder”. Not that there’s anything wrong with an overtly broadway-esque villain, lord knows those are fun, but very rarely do manipulative parental figures fall into that. It’s more “i love you and this is for your own good”
