Everyone says that Harry isn't qualified in Gryffindor because he isn't all that smart- and he attempted to catch letters that were flying in the air instead of the many piling up On ThE fLoOr.
But think about it, If I'd been sleeping in a darn cardboard full of spiders and having my own letters taken away from me like that, seeing how terrified my abusive aunt and uncle were at a bunch of flying letters would be so awesome. I wouldn't wanna just stoop down, pick one up and walk away like a good little girl, I'd wanna be ReCkLeSs.
Jumping around and enjoying the moment like: "F this place. HoGwArTs HaS gIvEn HaRrY a TrUcKLoAd oF LeTtErS- HaRrY iS fReEeEeEe!"
