Dr. Lulu Gonzalez launches her new book entitled Academic Discourses. The book compiles research work done throughout the years as her contribution to scholarly publication. Starting from her dissertation to journal articles and conference papers, the volume displays a broad range of topics while some articles focus on more specialized topics.
The book launching was held October 7, 2015 from 3-7 pm at the residence of her daughter, Dr. Louella Santos, in Whiteplains. Several MA Humanities students attended the event and presented the summaries of the book articles. Andrea, Camille, Josh, Drew, Erika, Jed, and Ysa clearly showed us how much scholarship went into writing the articles. Angel, a recent alumna of MA Hum talked about how Dog G guided her thesis writing.
Faculty members gave testimonies about Doc G. First off was Ms. Pia Marco who turned out to be Doc G’s neighbor. Ms. Marco related how much she was a part of the early years of the Humanities program. She also revealed how the program was a source for faculty. Dr. Jojo Nicdao expressed sincere gratitude to Doc G for always volunteering to teach the MA courses. Dr. Yvette Camacho later on gave her impressions of how much Doc G helped the school. Ms Danes and Ria expressed their gratitude towards Doc G when they were students and later on became teachers at UA&P. Dean Mejos and Ms. Ja were also part of the celebration.
