How long had it been since they'd last seen each other? Years? How long ago had the battle at Marineford been? Since that horrendous event, the days seemed to blur together. Her own loss of self-identity had her feeling as though she was floating in the ocean, undulating with the whitecaps that rose and fell with the moon's cycles but never crashed against the shore. Her life as an assassin became unfulfilling and no sooner had she left her guild did she come across the Cross Guild fliers. Instantly, her mind drifted to the doctor, barely older than her, who had tended to her wounds.
That settled it. She would join the Cross Guild and hopefully find more fulfillment. And at the very least, she would reconnect with the doctor that had saved her life. It surprisingly took little time to locate the emperor's base and convince him to allow her to join. A little flattery and ego-stroking went a long way with him but now that she was in it was time to try and find Marinette.
"Wow, I almost didn't recognize you. I thought your hair was actually made of roses or something," Sunni spoke as she looked through the open doorway. It had taken a brief moment to realize the brown-haired woman was the same one that had healed her a few years ago. It was only when she looked into her visible eye that the familiarity hit her. Remaining at the doorway, she slipped her hands into the pocket of her dress and offered a kind smile.
"Not sure if you remember me but I think you might've saved my life a few years ago."

“I need to be able to trust you to tell me when you’re hurt.” -docclown (Mihawk during Cross Guild?)
Trust.
It was the one thing he so selfishly kept for himself and only ever gave it to a select few. Mihawk knew the value of trust, and the responsibility it came with it. In a world where anybody could so easily turn their back on him and stab him when and where it hurt the most, he was reluctant to trust anybody but himself most of the time.
Being now part of the Cross Guild, there were many things he had to get accustomed to, including the constant and never-ending noise, the company he'd rather not get involved with most of the time, the lack of any proper literature to distract himself with.
He supposed he also had to get used to having a doctor around to tend to any potential injury he might get.
"My trust doesn't come easily. Especially not when it comes to injuries that might mean life or death."
@docclown / high pain tolerance starters
❛ oh god, you’re Red Hair Shanks, aren’t you ? ❜ -docclown
The tone of the voice had him perk up almost like an overexcited puppy. Shanks by that point was used to two ways people said his full moniker - either in fear by rival pirates or utter disgust by Marines. So the tone of curiosity and maybe a little shock was very new and very welcome to the Yonko.
The redhead turned around, lips curling up in a smile as he sized the young woman up and down. She was definitely a face he hadn't seen before.
"Sure am," he confirmed. "Don't remember seeing you around in these parts though, lass. Would be nice knowing who I have the pleasure talking to.
