I was introduced to Nilüfer Yanya by a friend, who called her their new crush, both musically and romantically - in a way. Me being most critical of the behaviours I tend to show myself, especially when it comes to music, I was super skeptic about the hype for a new artist I had never heard of before. Why do we do this? I did it for no reason apparently. But the bluesy, sprinkled with 90s-RnB-nuances handmade pop works very well on record. And it gets even better live.

Nilüfer Yanya has not released an Album yet, but some singles and an EP and I am calling her one of my top discoveries of the year. Listen to your friends’ taste in music, I say.

In the middle of August I will be going to Dockville Festival in Hamburg. I am super excited. Especially for the artists I’ll post on here, this week. 

Honne were the perfect representation of the RnB revival, last year. Being a kid of the 90s I appreciate the return to that chilled vibe of that early decade’s RnB. Slightly sexy, very cheesy and with a certain groove. This specific version right here, though, gives me goosebumps, everytime. And damn, Andy Clutterbuck’s got a voice!
