Me now vs. me two weeks ago today. That’s MEDIHONEY on my face. Some awesome homeopathic medicinal honey which acts like a liquid bandage and there is some intense tissue repair going on underneath. Strongly recommend as a wound or burn dressing! And at night I rock BIAFANE (read: fancy crack cream from France) thanks to my homegirls @lisag41 aka #doctaco hahaha. Feeling more myself today. Some laundry, some loading of the dishwasher, nails did, etc. This healing process has changed up my entire routine so it’s nice to have a little normalcy back! Chorizo Tacos (Calexico, Greenpoint)

When your friends asks "Wanna get some tacos?", you must say YES. This was the situation I found myself in last night in Brooklyn. So, with hunger in our bellies and tacos on our minds, we headed over to Calexico in Greenpoint.

I had been there once before, but that was around midnight one Friday for some margaritas and guacamole. Now was the time to dive into their deep taco menu. I wasn't that intimidated by the choices since I know I'll be back next week for a friend's birthday.

Started off with the chorizo tacos. I liked what they had going on with the chunks of roasted potatoes and cotija cheese sauce on top of the sausage. They added a great texture and savory flavor that the Tacos Y Quesadillas chorizo taco lacked. When it comes to chorizo, though, the spice is what matters. This one did have a great bite to it, but if I had to put it up taco-to-taco with Tacos Y Quesadillas', the taco truck would win.

Witness: Chorizo taco, all the toppings, salsa verde. Just one bite and you get that perfect chorizo spiciness that could only come from a taco truck. Which one? Tacos Y Quesadillas on 59th & Columbus. I’ve sampled most of the tacos on the menu, the chorizo reigns supreme. Know it. Eat it. Love it.
