Do you get insanely angry when people say that Belle has Stockholm Syndrome?
I think that’s just one interpretation, which is hard to knock given that she is a prisoner to begin with.
I don’t personally buy into that interpretation because she’s coming from that fucking town where they follow Gaston’s every whim. She has more choices in the castle than she ever had where she had come from, and the way I see it, she ceased to be a prisoner from the moment the Beast fought off the wolves.
But yeah, I can’t say that I get really mad about people who squick at the fact that she started as a prisoner, but I definitely think there’s genuine love there, rather than stockholme syndrome.
