his arm was bandaged, straight from surgery with the latest punishment to keep him in line; to keep one from acting out and keep him docile and calm. he felt even lonelier than before, his body drained of energy - unable to find the will to attempt turning invisible, he sat in silence in the corner. his finger tracing idle patterns on the wall.

papa had saw too it that proper security measures were set in place to ensure he wouldn’t wander far. he made sure that any unauthorized use of one’s abilities would be near impossible and if he dared to try, an electric shock would surge through his body. this didn’t stop his determination, the longing to turn invisible and play. he’d tried too hard today, his skin was burning and tingling; it was slightly painful to touch anything. he sat in silence, staring at the empty space before him; it was the soft voice of the other that roused him from his train of thought.

“it’s okay.” he said softly, pointing to the incision point in his arm; it was there he was sure the electric shocks were coming from. he wasn’t all too sure what the device in his arm was doing or just how it was able to tell when he was up to no good. “hurt.”

it was only a matter of time before he had been caught. just how long could he manage to wander the facility before they noticed a child experiment had gone missing from his room? he’d gone far enough, he was becoming too great of a risk - sticking his nose in things that he shouldn’t but he simply couldn’t control his childlike curiosity. it wasn’t until he was strapped down on the cold metal table that he knew he had gone to far, that he knew they had came up with some sort of solution to keep him from wandering aimlessly.

the young boy struggled, all attempts were pointless as arms held him down. he could see him there, leaning against the wall; his papa. whimpering pathetically as he struggled, he began to beg for his release. “PAPA, please -- i can do better.”

it was the only thing to keep him occupied during his downtime, the only thing that he found was able to calm him in moments of high stress - his rubix cube. unsure of how to bond with the others properly, sammy decided to try -- the only way that he really knew how, by talking about his toy. he glanced at the other, smiling awkwardly. “do you know how to do it?” he asked, happy to show her if it meant that he’d make a friend.

taking a seat at the table beside her, occupying himself with his little handheld game; after a very long silence, he finally spoke. “did you know that I beat my record?” he said, acting as if he were stating a very important scientific fact. he wasn’t too sure if she would really care but it was important to him anyways; he never quite knew how to approach the other children.
