All the film fluff :)
Ok, film making is no joke. I have spent an entire week trying to set up a Canon C500 and still not getting ok audio. Also, because the majority of what I am creating is going to be live and interviewing various people, I thought a script was not necessary. I couldn't have been more wrong.
I remember my last semester at graduate school - I had completed all my required credits and needed 6 more to graduate so wasn't restricted to Fu or Business school subjects. I remember thinking that picking a subject from the School of Art would do the trick so I can take it easy that semester... and of course I picked contemporary French which was basically learning the French history and culture through film and thus 3 to 4 hours of watching and critiquing films per week. Luckily we focused on poetic realism and the French new wave which I really enjoyed. I wish I’d have taken the ‘business of making films’ as it’d serve me well at this point. Alas, I still have the privilege of reaching out to Columbia University family when I get stuck so hoping this will work out.
Now, going back to my script...
