Parliament Week 2014
The Good Law Team are excited to be getting involved in and running events as part of Parliament Week 2014.
We’re hosting an interactive session on Friday 21 November from 2.30 to 4.30 pm. The event is open to the public and will follow the lifecycle of a Bill through all the stages of its creation. With presentations from policy-makers, lawyers and parliamentary drafters, those attending will also have the chance to play the “Legislate?!” board game, taking you on a journey through the legislative process from 'bright idea' to 'law of the land'. If you or someone you know might be interested you can register for free tickets at http://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/the-lifecycle-of-a-bill-demystifying-the-legislative-process-tickets-14071804145 utm_campaign=new_eventv2&utm_medium=email&utm_source=eb_email&utm_term=eventurl_text
Our friends at The National Archives will be hosting a Good Law Hackathon on Saturday 22 November. The National Archives will be making a number of new legislative datasets available for people to explore (including texts, powers and duties, amendments etc). The aim of the Hackathon is to explore the different methods and processes by which the statute book can be measured. We are sure this unique opportunity will be very popular and lead to some fascinating insights into our legislation.http://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/the-good-law-hackathon-tickets-13997756667?utm_campaign=new_eventv2&utm_medium=email&utm_source=eb_email&utm_term=eventname_text
We’re really looking forward to the events – hope to see some of you there!
