Chapter 1: Prelude
Narrated by Dodora.
Narrator: It was a hot summer, and also one in which Mercury Era rocked the entertainment industry with a talent program.
Narrator: I made it into Mercury Era as a trainee with my outstanding performance.
You: Mercury Era...? Are you...
Narrator: Yes. I know we aren't exactly on good terms now, but I used to work for them. I was one of their trainees.
Narrator: And I was the best one, of course.
Narrator: Three years ago, inside the trainee studio on the 7th floor of the Mercury Era Tower.
Dodora: Let's go! For our sweet dreams!
Trainee A: Amazing! You always nail it when you sing and dance. I'm jealous!
Trainee B: We can only dream to be like you one day.
Dodora: I can share a few tips with you.
Trainee A: Really? What kind of tips?
Dodora: When you go from one line to the next, for example, there's a window for you to breathe. Let me do it again to show you how it works.
Dodora: Like this. Let's go! 1, 2, 3, 4, breathe. For our sweet dreams!
Narrator: I slow down to show the other trainees how I dance and take breaths in between lines. Before I know it, most of the girls in the studio have gathered around me.
You: But these girls are your competitors. Is it okay to share your skills with them?
Narrator: Why wouldn't I be, though? I am still the best idol, and we're a team after all.
Narrator: Then, someone pushes the studio's door open. It's a girl in a purple dress, panting as she walks in with a cooler box in hand.
Narrator: She's the oldest of our group and has her own way of doing things.
Trainee B: Dorothy, what took you so long? And what's this?
Dorothy: I bet we're all tired from the practice. Let's all take a break. I'll make us all some lemon tea.
Trainee C: I'm so thirsty. Dorothy, you're an angel!
Trainee A: You really are an angel, Dorothy. We can't live without you.
Dorothy: Come on, you're making me blush. I was craving lemon tea myself and decided to make some for everyone as well.
Dorothy: By the way, iced or hot, I've got them both. Pick whichever one you prefer.
Trainee B: Oh my god, Dorothy, I love you so much!
Narrator: The girls gather around Dorothy, leaving me alone again in the corner.
Dorothy: Dodora, come and join us!
Dodora: I'm fine. I only drink water during practice.
Narrator: Dorothy, however, is still wearing the same smile.
Dorothy: Of course. Singing and sweet drinks don't go well together, which is why I only added a teeny bit of honey. Let me know when you want some.

You: You seem a little upset. Is it because of Dorothy?
Narrator: I'm not upset... Well, a bit, maybe.
