It was... odd to read so much fear and unease on a face that’s usually so well controlled, especially without feeling the accompanying empathic resonance they’re used to. They didn’t like it actually, not at all. It felt wrong in a way that twists their gut, worse then realizing they were alone in a world that they could hear no one and no one could hear them. Unnatural.

“I cannot hear you.” They say quietly, disconcerted even if they don’t show it much. “Something took your voice away, it feels empty now.” They shift uneasily and chitter, not sure whether they wanted to try to approach him or not. The feeling of his power may be gone but they weren’t familiar with what that could mean and didn’t know if it was just pulled close and hidden from feeling or if it was as gone as it felt. What would that mean?

They hum indecisively for a moment before straightening and approaching a few steps closer. They’re rather counting on his power either being gone (while they did not like the implications of that it would be convenient) or him being in no mood to chop them into little bits

“What happened to you? This is not meant to happen, this is not correct.” Their fingers twitch like they want to reach for him. “There is just a void, nothing there but emptiness, what the fuck happened?” They do reach for him then while whistling concern, almost to check that he’s real and physical and not just them seeing something that should be there but isn’t.

Zer0 wants to reach for him with bare hands and hear him there like they should be able to but they remember who this is. Baby steps.
