Leaning over the balcony, he watched the sky. It had been just another one of those nights he had to flee the suffocating loneliness but the CEO would often drag someone along to anchor him in case of need and Sera was the chosen one tonight. Thinking things over, Dohyun almost felt sorry for the girl. She was so sweet, probably the frailer girl he knew, he adored every bit of her innocent persona and yet… submitting her to his unpredictable night outs was… evil, to say the least. The thoughts had him frowning at the stars.
“Exactly… why are you awake?”
Her frame seemed even smaller in his clothes she borrowed and he couldn’t help but smile over his shoulder seeing Sera rub a sweater paw to her sleepy eyes. Turning to the side, elbow landing onto the guardrail again, he stared at her curiously, letting the image sink in. Why does she cope with me?, he mused. I’m not being the kind of friend she needs, am I? But he wasn’t about to ask those questions. She wasn’t one to say no and Dohyun began to wonder if that was her adventurous character peeking out or just an undiagnosed condition. He was betting on the latter.
“I miscalculated. My legs are too long for the couch.”
Sera was already asleep on his bed since he said he’d sleep on the couch and he was stubborn enough to ignore every time she insisted on her sleeping there, and in the end, well, she wouldn’t say otherwise even though she knew it’d be uncomfortable and bad for his back, and only one hour after they said goodnight, Sera woke up from her sleep and found herself too worried about him. Scooting off the bed and walking into the living room, not seeing him on the couch and looking around, finally seeing his slim figure on the balcony, walking up there and slowly opening the glass door.
“Why are you awake?”
She mumbled in her sleepy voice, bringing hand up to rub her sleepy eyes. The cold wind almost had her freezing but fortunatelly Dohyun let her borrow one of his shirts, and it was warm enough to now let her turn into a icecub. His explanation was not enough for her to leave the concern aside, so curling her tiny fingers on the fabric of his shirt, Sera looked up at him and pouted a little, moving head to mention for him to walk in. “That’s why I told you I could sleep here, it’s your house after all... And if you stay here you’ll get sick, Dohyun. Want me to make some hot chocolate for you?”
