Currently cooking a side quest for my party (this will take months) that consists of someone named the "doll maker" slowly showing humans how much better mechanical creatures are with a series of tests designed to show them how much better being transformed would be, slowly corrupting the players with cursed artifacts

In an update to my DND situation: ergo "someone named The Dollmaker wants us to solve his riddles three inside his dollhouse (read, big fuckoff maze that involves slow corruption via limb and body replacements, cursed artifacts)"

Chess puzzle, but with mannequins instead of chess pieces.

Underwater section, because dolls don't need to breathe, hence, cursed mask which sticks to your face, but means you don't need to breathe.

Cursed bracer that slowly replaces your skin with porcelain, but hey, +1 ac!

Steel leg that makes you magnetic, but also, +1 to strength checks :)

Puzzle involving magnets that requires you to walk on magnetic walls, which you can only do with a steel limb

Engraving machine that lets you add tattoos to your (non human) limbs! (The dolls all compliment how good your skin looks)

As per usual re:DND dollification arc I have accidentally turned what originally was just

Into one of the most touching heartbreaking stories I can imagine. This dungeon is APPARENTLY full of creatures who were otherwise suffering and had no method of being fixed, and now they're this caretaker's beloved dolls. The whole reason the party is even here, is because the doll maker kidnapped their friend to summon them, because he heard they solve problems.

And boy howdy does it have one of those. His beloved dolls have recently been infected by something called doll rot. A black mold that seemingly only lives on dolls. It hurts them, destroys their joints (I wonder where this came from) and slowly kills them. Turns out that the "goddess" of the war forged (another war forged currently sitting on a cursed throne they didn't know was cursed, see: they installed her after killing the dragon that was stopping anyone from using it) is jealous of the idea that these, fundamentally warforged people might worship another other than she. (She also wants them back in the cycle of reincarnation.) And so shes spread this rot to slowly kill the dolls and now the players are in doll town to help, although they thought this was just a fun way for me to do puzzles instead of combat.

I'm so invested in this plotline now. Please leave your ideas somewhere I need more inspiration.
