In your opinion, is C!Dolphin a villain?

this is just. a really complicated question i think

shes framed as the major hero of their divine battle, fighting for the team while m*ry is out of commission with her (admittedly hugely unique) sea-based powers. their expedition to retrieve the (mind the spoilers) amulet of trout was a really fun one and her being the only one to survive the journey into the forest that is skew is really fucking emotional. their power struggle as both become closer to concepts than people- its really strong.

i understand skewfin shippers! theyre so much. theyre implied to get unbelivably close sharing power that is essentially their soul, the knife that was supposed to twist into eachother becoming their shared salvation as theyre forced to use eachother to survive and hold on so close.

the parallels of being the land and sea makes them SUCH an appealing pair, even platonically! its so cool to see that unrelenting purple added to their pallets and ruin the gentle desaturation of their greyed out colours.

the way they both become stronger after nearly all the power leaves them, the way they end up curled into eachother in a scar of the earth like a nest they dug together to rest. its a lot.

on the other hand... she doesnt save anyone. the expansion of the forest doesnt have negative implications- the world has been ruined through urbanization and further removal of natural landmasses. he wasnt hurting anyone necessarily- it was only a threat because the power needed to return to mary so they could survive to save elo from the voidsickness that followed her fall. the world would end regardless, if mary perished.

skew's need for power leading to the thieving of mary's leftover divinity wasnt a flaw of his character, but a necessary plot device that further alienates him (PURPOSEFULLY MAY I ADD) from the main group, who all love eachother. who dont love him like that.

so: no, i dont really think dolphin is a villain, but shes certainly complex!

the side character? she tried getting with my favourite character (skew. if you couldnt tell by my profile lmfao). yeah shes awesome i loved their fight for divinity arc!

niklo and skewlo love corner. but niki and skew are siblings so no polycule option because that'd be a little weird honestly. whats the best outcome.

What's your opinion on the Dolphin the Usurper arc?

I think i mentioned it in a previous ask but i thought it was amazing at first, but the ending really ruined it for me :( It sure is one of Dolphin's best arcs though!! I just wish she took away skew's power permantently so we didn't have to deal with his further appearances :///

Dolphin deserves so much better!! Early on id say it was a fun ship but then skew fully showed his colours and like. We all know he's a massive asshole now LMAO. I won't lie i really liked the divine battles arc at first but then skew just got to keep his power and i hated that so much :/// Love Dolphin for standing up to it though!!
