Belmont San Chez showed up at Speedweek in 1953 with this radically altered American Austin-Bantam that originally came with a 13hp 4-banger.
After a lot of work San Chez installed a '53 Olds V8 displacing 371" that propelled the car to a speed of 152.02 mph for a second in Class D Competition Coupe and Sedan. Don Bishop went faster for a first at speed of 161.57 mph and got all the glory. Belmont had pre-entered the car in Class C also as car number 599 but never made a run in that configuration.
