Thinking again to Howard tonight, to how hard it must have been for him dealing with Jason not only leaving the band, but also not wanting to hear from them anymore.

I know that they aren't teenagers anymore, they have families, friends outside work, separate professional lives. Nevertheless, the person with whom he had shared a visible connection for many years, whom he admired and looked up to, decided to disappear from his life. Maybe I'm projecting my own pain here, but it must have been terrible.
