FUNNY STORY
My mom told me this story afterwards and realized I hadn't shared it yet. My mom, hubby, brother and friend were in the waiting room as I went in for surgery. The nurse warned my mom several times to NOT be late when the surgeon comes out. Even I heard another nurse say earlier, "If she says an hour, be here 45 minutes just in case. <Surgeon> will NOT wait on anyone." I laughed all the staff knew of this surgeon's reputation.
So they were there ON TIME (good family) before she came out. My mom and Hubby made sure to each ask two questions. They even told my brother and friend to ask some too. My mom told everyone, be firm and ask. Warning them.
So here comes the surgeon. Calls them into a side room and all four came in too. (I laugh here, probably only expected hubby and/or mom). She went through her good news run down and then said "and now you can leave". LOL My brother and friend both immediately got up and went to leave unable to talk the surgeon was so intimidating. My mom and hubby though would not be swayed. Go Mommy! Go Hubby! And they asked questions and surgeon literally rolled their eyes. Even mentioned they answered one of the questions.
My mom laughed leaving the room. Hubby told her, "I feel like I am being dismissed by the principal".
So I knew what I was getting before picking this surgeon. I need brains, skill and latest cancer research - I do not need personality. I knew I was in good hands even if comical. A surgeon is only once a year. The oncologist, etc. they are a different story.
