lame thoughts on da am.

i saw don's plum (2001) tonight and let me tell you......

honestly i have no idea what i watched. If i could compare it to anything it would be the breakfast club only because it was essentially a bunch of teenagers hanging out and talking about shit. In a way don's plum is both more mature and immature than john hughes movie. their discussions are immature but all of them have been forced to mature a lot quicker. most of the movie was improvised and Leos acting was mind blowing. I've never hated a character so much. the beginning of the film felt like a montage and obviously contained disjunctive editing. 15 min later all characters met up at this restaurant and the rest of the movie stayed in that one area. From there, long shots, continuity editing, and definitely some jump cuts which added really nice input on the individual characters feelings. 

did i mention this was filmed in b&w which made it all more interesting.
