Expectations
The expectations people give women are absolutely insane. Why should I be looked at differently, be treated differently because I don't look like the girl in that stupid magazine you're 'reading'. I should not be treated or looked at differently because I'm bigger than the girl on the screen. Yes, I would like to lose weight. But that's because I am unhealthy. I physically don't feel good. But that does NOT warrent your judging eyes to wander all over me or any other woman in my situation. My weight loss or lack there of is not your concern. If I decide to share that information with you, then you can talk to me about it. But don't you dare talk shit or judge me. And I'm not saying don't try to stay fit, because staying fit is awesome and if you can stick with it then good on you. But you don't have to look like the girl in the magazine or the one on the screen. For some of us, it's a lot harder to get and stay fit. It's hard for us to get up and say, "I'm gonna go work out today" and then do it. We come up with all the excuses. "I'm too tired. It's hot. People will judge me. I don't have time." It's hard. I want to be better about what I eat, I want to work out more, but there's one specific thing that really makes it the most difficult. Depression. You know why the depression is there? Because I'm constantly being judged about what I eat, and how I look, and what the number on the scale is. Some girls starve themselves so they look like the one in the magazine or on the screen. They starve themselves so much it kills them sometimes. And that is on you. The ones that judged her. The ones that told her she's not good enough, not skinny enough, when her body was perfect the way it was. So please. Stop judging us. And don't give us crazy expectations that will ruin our self esteem because it's damn near impossible to reach.
