Story of a disable chameleon
My friend’s brother bought a veiled chameleon a few years ago. He decided to abandon it when he found that its tongue is not extending out like normal one.
A normal chameleon’s tongue can be extended 1.5-2 times the length of its body, and can reach the prey in less than 0.1 second.
The little chameleon was classified as “disable” by its owner. He was going to abandon it and than bought a new, “normal” one... It was bred and not able to live by its own, so I decided to adopt it.
I called it Look-look (碌碌, means “wheel” in english) because its tail always curls like a wheel LOL! Since its tongue was “out-of-order” and can only extend less than 5cm, I need to feed it by a bowl. Look-look is so cute that he would hold its bowl when eating!
Look-look is an exceptional chameleon, it likes to eat veggie!
I tried to introduce Look-look to my cats but seemed not very successful in the beginning LOL! My cats showed funny faces and “airplane ear” (feeling irritable or frightened) when first met Look-look...
Si-grac: Don’t step any closer monster, meow! Get away!!!
Look-look: Hi! Nice to meet you! I am Look-look! Siu-gut (airplane ear): Who are you? You look so strange... meow...
I arranged a “meeting section” eveyday for Look-look and my cats, and you see! A few weeks later they were so close to each other! Love is all around :)
Despite its “out-of-order” tongue, Look-look is an active and “naughty” chameleon which is as adorable as “normal” one. Please don’t abandon your pets because of their disability and sickness. They might be only part of your life, but to them you are their whole life!
Don’t abandon your pet! Think twice!
