Well, Just a little context, I have the Game Pokémon legends Arceus and yes, I chose Cyndaquil (Y soportan LOL) So I called him Zachary only for the visual novel character (Zachary - Don't look) 'cause.. Why not?. Plot Twist: I seriously love Zachary. Plot Twist: Yo seriamente amo a Zachary.
A drabble for the visual novel Don't Look ft. My trash gremlin OC, Nathan <3
TW: suicidal thoughts, some blood, general violence
------------------------
"Don't do that again, okay?"
Nathan just sat there, stunned, as blood filled his mouth.
He wasn't sure why he was so surprised; it should've been obvious that if this guy kidnapped him, he was obviously capable of violence. And yet, somehow the switch between how kind and gentle he'd been to literally punching Nathan in the face shocked him.
"Welp, that's our time for today, Little Moth. I gotta head out, so you two just have fun okay? I love ya."
After the man- Zach- walked away, closing the door behind him, a voice spoke up behind Nathan, causing him to flinch.
"Um... Are you okay?"
Nathan slowly turned his head in the direction of the voice...
And spat out the tooth Zach knocked out on the floor in front of them.
He hoped it didn't actually land on them though; as bitter and angry as he was, this person didn't sound like they were working with Zach.
"What do you think." Nathan's voice came out deeper and more gravely than usual due to how dry his throat was.
"Oh... Oh, my God. I-I didn't know... I didn't know he punched you that hard... I'm- I'm sorry!"
Nathan frowned, feeling bad. "Why are you apologizing? 'S not like you're the one that did it. Anyway, he bring you here too?"
"Oh- yes! Zach told me to be quiet until you'd... Settled in. My name is Chester, by the way. It's nice to meet you... Well, as nice as it can be in a scenario like this."
"Nathan." He responded, sighing as he felt a headache coming on. "So what does this freak want with us?"
"So um, I believe he wants... To be in a relationship with us? H-He's had a couple of... Partners before I got here, I think we're just his latest 'crushes'. At least from what he's told me."
Crushes? Seriously? Nathan couldn't help but scoff at that. As if this was some innocent schoolboy pining after a person he liked. "And what happened to the others?" Nathan asked.
"Some of them... Were um... G-gotten rid of. If you disobey him then he tends to get violent, but if you're polite, he's just as polite back."
"You don't say." Nathan said dryly, jaw still throbbing from that punch. He could still taste the blood in his mouth, too.
"Yeah... I-I think that's why he keeps me alive, because I just do what he says..."
"Wow..." Nathan couldn't help but feel bad. "That's kinda depressing, Chester."
"A little bit. But if I'm being honest, I'd rather be pathetic than dead."
"That makes one of us." Nathan muttered to himself, mostly out on instinct.
Nathan couldn't help but feel sorry for Chester, more than himself. From what Chester said, all Nathan would have to do was piss Zachary off enough and then it'd be over. It wasn't like he hadn't been trying that himself for the past 9 years. But Chester actually wanted to live.
"Hm. He kept calling me Little Moth. What does that mean?" Nathan asked, changing the subject.
"Oh, he gives us all bug nicknames... H-He calls me Bumblebee."
"Ah. Y'know, that'd be kinda cute if it was in literally any other context than this." Nathan responded, prompting a weak chuckle from Chester.
"Wait so- dumb question but are you blindfolded too? I mean I kinda assume not cuz you seemed to see what I did earlier..." Nathan felt his cheeks heat up in embarrassment. He'd originally spat his tooth out because he was pissed and frustrated, but Chester actually seemed pretty cool.
"N-Not anymore." Chester responded. "Zach let me take off my blindfolded a few weeks ago."
"My condolences." Nathan said dryly. It was a self-deprecating joke, but he realized right after saying it that Chester probably wouldn't get it, so he quickly asked another question. "Uh- so why does he keep us blindfolded?"
"I-I'm not entirely sure, he seems to think it's some kind of... Trust thing? I-I don't really know."
So what Nathan was taking away from this was be a little shit = getting murdered, and being 'good' = taking the blindfold off.
Well, he was pretty sure he had something to live for now. How could he just let himself die when Chester was still here? It'd be pretty selfish to not at least try to get him out of this place.
So, Nathan resolved to keep himself alive, just until he helped Chester- and anyone else still alive Zachary kidnapped- out of here.
