Unearthed
The other day, I stumbled upon an old YouTube account that I had completely forgotten about, featuring videos from 16 years ago. Unedited clips, shaky, and blurry beyond recognition. I remember using an old flip pink Sony Ericsson phone that my grandmother gave me, but I don't recall most of the moments I had captured.
Watching those videos felt out-of-this-world nostalgic and cringy, but I was smiling ear to ear. I was so young. We were so young, then. My cousins were still babies, my sister was so petite, I was either in Baguio with my aunt, in the pool with my mother at the rest house, or in the moshpit at the mall watching my fave band, and some people I now call strangers were still in my life. It's crazy how life happened 16 years later.
It made me realize how important it is to write and take tons of pics and clips because our future selves will thank us for them. Not for the society's "likes", but for the joy in the form of reminiscing.
