Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour. 1/2 cup granulated sugar. 2 tsp baking powder. 1/2 tsp salt. 1/2 cup milk. 2 large eggs. 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted. 1 tsp vanilla extract. Oil for frying. 1 cup powdered sugar for glaze. 2-3 tbsp milk for glaze. 1/2 tsp vanilla extract for glaze. Sprinkles or toppings of your choice.
Instructions: Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt together in a mixing bowl. Mix the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl. Mixing until a dough forms, pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. On a surface dusted with flour, roll out the dough to a thickness of about 1/2 inch. Using a donut cutter or a round cutter with a smaller cutter for the center holes, cut out the shapes of donuts. In a deep pan, bring the oil's temperature up to 350F 180C. Gently drop the donuts into the heated oil and cook for two to three minutes on each side, or until golden brown. After removing the donuts, pat dry with paper towels. To make the glaze, combine milk, vanilla extract, and powdered sugar in a separate bowl. Dredge every donut in the glaze, allowing any excess to fall off. While the glaze is still wet, add your favorite toppings or sprinkles. After letting the glaze solidify, savor your freshly baked donuts!
