Mystery Spot
This year's Doo-Nanny was truly fantastic.
There is so much love and inspiration rolling around inside me right now because of it.
I've started a photo set from the festival on Flickr. I'll be adding to it for days.
I Wonder
Soon I will return to the Woods of Wonder for this year's Doo-Nanny.
Always creative, chaotic unpredictability.
Feeling anxious anticipation.
Brings to mind this Sixto Rodriguez song.
Art box I got from Butch Anthony, the father of Intertwangleism.
Museum of Wonder
My friend Butch Anthony and his Museum of Wonder are featured in this month's Garden & Gun magazine. Very cool. Butch is truly an inspiring artist and person. I feel very lucky to know him. Here are a few photos I took of the Museum during last year's Doo-Nanny, a big event Butch throws every March. Krekel and I have been going to (and playing music at) the Doo-Nanny for years. It's always a memorable and transformative experience.
"This is Butch Anthony's Doo-Nanny, the annual art & music festival held on his farm in Seale, Alabama..."
"...Here is the Phenix City Cable documentary of last year's Doo-Nanny on the Video page, which is serialized in 5 parts on YouTube. I'll post it here for easy access."
What a country we live in! We are based in NYC and sometimes we forget how extraordinary things can come from some of the most unlikely of places. Once again, etsy conveys another wonderful story which is about Doo-Nanny founders Butch Anthony & John Henry Toney from Seale, Alabama where all kinds of creative stuff are made.
Someday soon we are on our way to visit this hidden gem!
