Consider maybe Buran isn't used to transforming like Spaceloaf is. Shuttle is his natural form. It has been a Long Time since he's been a proper shuttle since waking up mayhaps. Much longer since flown. Pls consider him soaking in being in a familiar shape again doing a familiar job/task/purpose and forgetting other things for a bit in the familiarity. Just a bit, until he feels a hand on his shuttle's snoot. Just like when his little humans used to put theirs all those years ago but different and bigger and then he remembers.
He's got a friend now! He traveled space with this friend!! He's not alone anymore! Friend is also a shuttle, but he's in the other form now, so okay he's gotta do the same. He's not used to it so transforming takes a bit longer than it might be for usual Cybertronians. He manages it eventually and they go on their merry way.
I just needed to balance the angst ask with something and the brain cooked this up. Hope y'all like the bit of fluff qwq Let them flyyyy!!
