Victorian Au Drabble #1-A Lord's Requiem
So for a while, I’ve been into a bunch of AU’s, and to show my love I decided to write fanfics for them! Starting with Victorian AU by @doodleimprovement/NanixErka. It’s one of the cutest, most wholesome AUs I’ve ever read!
SPOILERS for those who haven’t read Victorian AU or at least the finale of Act 1:
After reading the Act 1 Finale I was wondering what everyone was feeling since Lukas saved Harriet, so I hope you don’t mind doodleimprovment/NanixErka that I wrote this for you! I hope you like it!
Thanks to @gigilefache for being my beta reader!
Enjoy!
It’s been hours since Harriet saved Lord Lukas. Not in the way she intended for it to be, but the lord was saved none of the less.
This Lord was done cleaning himself after being imprisoned for many years and was staring at his favorite outfit, laid out on his bed. Lukas picked it up and saw that it wasn’t touched or damaged, it looked made and ready to wear. He sighed and started to put it on.
Once dressed, Lukas left his room and made his way to Harriet’s room where the young girl was in bed as a doctor, Dr. Bonacci was examining the young girl. By her bed was Morgan who just stared at Harriet as tears slowly fell down her face.
The echoes of Harriet’s screams and cries played in his head again as flashes of her being pulled by his ex-wife, her deadly grip clasping Harriet by her hair, appeared in his mind.
“Lord Lukas.” The lord gasped and looked up at Dr. Bonacci.
“How is she?” Lukas asked.
“She’s gonna live, but when she’ll awake is unclear. It could be days almost a week.” Dr. Bonacci explained. Lukas sighed, but he still wasn’t convinced. Dr. Bonacci frowned, she had to think of something to tell the lord to make him feel better, but after hearing everything how can anyone tell the lord anything will be alright. “Just come to my office to pick up the medicine when she wakes up, okay? I’ll leave you alone the rest of the day.”
Lukas nodded. “Thank you, Doctor.” He said. Dr. Bonacci nodded and left the manor. Once she was gone, Lord Lukas sighed and looked down at his little fool, still asleep. He reached out to push a strand of hair that was in the way, but he hesitated and pulled away.
The lord then turned towards Morgan, who wiped tears from her eyes. “I’m sorry.” She cried. “I-I didn’t mean to.”
“It’s not your fault, Morgan,” Lukas reassured the girl.
“Yes, it is!” Morgan yelled. “I-I told her Hattie was down there to save you! I told Lady Vanessa everything!”
The lord raises an eyebrow. “Did you tell her because you wanted Harriet in trouble?”
Morgan sniffled and slowly shook her head. “N-No.” She replied. “B-but it’s still my fault!”
“She forced you to tell her everything,” Lukas reassured her. Morgan’s eyes widened as she looked up at the lord. Lukas’s eyes widened as well thinking he finally got through the young girl. The Lord walked over to her, but just as he was about to comfort her, she flinched away. Lukas’s eyes widened and he felt his anger rise again. Vanessa hurt everyone here. “Morgan. It’s not your fault. Harriet will understand, just let her know everything.”
“What if she never wakes up. W-What if she-” Morgan couldn’t say it. Tears started to flow faster from her eyes. Lukas put his hand on Morgan’s shoulder, which made her look up at the lord.
“Dr. Bonacci said Harriet would be fine. She’ll make it.” Lukas told her.
Morgan sniffled. “Are you sure?” She asked.
This was the first time he couldn’t give Morgan a straight answer. Sure, Dr. Bonacci told him Harriet will be fine, but like with Morgan, he was worried that Harriet may not make it. However, he couldn’t say that to the young girl. “Dr. Bonacci said so, right?”
Morgan nodded, which gave some relief to the lord.
“Then she’ll be fine. I promise you.” Morgan gave a small smile before looking back at Harriet asleep.
“I promise. I’ll make it up to her.” Morgan whispered.
“Same here, Morgan. Same here.” Lukas whispered to himself.
By evening, Lukas’s brother Marcus finally came and Lukas updated him with everything that went on in his absence. Like the twins they were, Marcus was visibly upset at how Vanessa ran things while he was gone, especially hearing about what happened to little Harriet.
“May I go see her?” Marcus asked.
Lukas nodded. “She’s sleeping.” He slowly opened the door to see Morgan watching her friend. The older girl was fighting to stay awake as she wanted to keep an eye on her friend. Marcus frowned seeing the scene in front of him, he couldn’t imagine the horror Harriet went through. “She’s gonna be alright, right?”
“Yeah, I hope,” Lukas whispered.

After a long day, it was already midnight and everyone decided to get some shut-eye. Though Lukas wasn’t getting any sleep despite finally sleeping somewhere soft and cozy for the first time in forever.
He sighed and went to close his eyes trying to sleep, hoping he could sleep well for the very first time. However, he saw visions of the incident which caused him to delay his sleep any further.
Lukas got up and went over to Harriet’s room to check up on her. He took a peek to see Morgan finally asleep and Harriet was slowly but surely starting to breathe normally. Lukas was relieved and gave a small smile before leaving and going back to bed.
By morning, Lukas was tired. So tired that he couldn’t write any letters or catch up on anything, like cleaning up Vanessa’s mess. He could take a nap, but the worry of Harriet came back leaving the lord in a tight spot.
Just as Lukas was about to start on the letter again he heard footsteps rushing over to his office. “Brother! Brother! She’s awake!” Marcus then burst through the door, “She’s Awake!”
Lukas dropped his quill and in a flash, he was out of his office. He was about a couple of steps to Harriet’s room till Marcus grabbed him by the shoulder. “Brother, wait!” Marcus said. Lukas stopped and turned. “Don’t overwhelm her.” Lukas nodded and he walked over to Harriet’s room.
Lukas stopped and heard Morgan apologizing to Harriet. Taking a deep breath, Lukas stepped in and spoke up. “But nothing, Little Fool.”
Lukas gave a small smile seeing Harriet stare at him, what he really looked like. “You look like a dork,” Harriet spoke up. Lukas chuckled seeing Harriet is gonna be alright.
