But of course! Digit and the Hacker were the best characters in the whole show-- and honestly why I watched it well beyond being the targeted demographic. They're hilarious!

The Hacker: Bumbling Dad

Wicked: Working Mom

Buzz: Nerdy Teen

Delete: Goth Teen

Cyber-Hound: (OC) Pet Dog

Any ideas on who could be the ”wacky” neighbor?

LOL. I'm more of a 70s or 50s sitcom gal. With the part suave, part useless asshole dad and feminist housewife mom. Kids usually didn't matter or didn't exist which is how I like it /j

Buzz would definitely be the family dog while Delete is the bumbling worker who's suppose to be doing some kind of renovation in the house but it takes it forever because he doesn't know what he's doing and is always causing accidents. Hacker would talk out the side of his mouth and go "that delete's out there again. we really outta kick him to the curb."

Baskerville is the best friend or maybe uncle without a life who shows up at the house every episode. People usually see him as either the voice of reason for the husband or someone who's a bad influence on him.

The wacky neighborhood would be Marbles.... for sure.

I was wondering about your thoughts on Kumiko? I really like her design, but I wish she was more than the hot Japanese wife.

my knowledge of the simpsons is terribly limited but what i do know of kumiko is a tad 😬 bc i do agree in that her design is super cute and i’m sure she’s got potential as a character in her own right but contextually it’s not a great look. the fact that she’s comic book guy’s wife too is also kinda uhhhhhhh... not saying that a couple like that can’t be happy and healthy together (my knowledge of their actual marriage dynamic, once again, very limited), but it’s all about context and how the show treats it, y’know? as an asian woman i am definitely not super comfortable w it bc she plays right into patterns of east asian women being fetishized both for purposes of sexualization for the viewer and parody for the plot bc Of Course her main role is to be the trophy wife of the resident gatekeepy nerd who probably consumes hentai and would 100% project his fantasies onto her. so yeah to reiterate: it’s not a great look

Your thoughts on Kumiko and how she's handled on the show?

Hmm Kumiko is a cute character and I think she has potential but she does seem to be kind of stereotypical, at least in the beginning. I honestly don’t remember much of her scenes. But they’re kind of bad about in the show having stereotypes. Not that her VA has anything to do with the writing, but I do hope with her new VA maybe her appearances will seem more authentic? Idk

If Kumiko was introduced in one of the classic seasons, What do think her story would of been?

oof. i really REALLY doubt kumiko would have even existed in 90s simpsons in any way—if at all—im comfortable discussing (because i am not asian, but you dont have to be asian to notice the lack of asian representation in the show and acknowledge what what little there is isnt. great)
