She hated Frannie a little, nice as she was. She was pretty in ways Carrie didn't think she was and Harold sure liked her an awful lot.

From Mama to Tommy Ross and Coach Desjardin, everyone was gone. She tried not to think too much about it. Just as much as she tried not to think of the dreams she'd been having since.
