The pack was having a rough go at it these past few weeks. What with finals and protecting the town so I thought I would invite them over for some morning breakfast.
“Der I’m going out,” I grabbed the keys to the Camaro and was almost out the door.
“Where are you going?” he peeped his head out of the kitchen.
“Get some donuts,” I looked back at him. “And I’m taking your car, byeee.”
Beacon Hills didn’t have the donuts I was looking for so I had to drive out of town to get them. I had already called ahead so the order would be ready.
The drive wasn’t all that fun but I kept myself entertained by singing to whatever was playing on the radio.
I finally got to the place and I went in to get the donuts. “Hi there. Pickup for Hale,” I said to the nice lady at the cash register.
“2 assorted varieties, 2 original glaze, 2 assorted sprinkles, all dozens and lastly 1 half dozen of chocolate glaze with sprinkles,” she read off the ticket.
“Yes Ma’am,” I replied taking out my wallet.
“That’ll be 54.06,” she placed the boxes on the counter.
I handed her $60, “keep the change,” I said as I took the receipt and the donuts.
I carefully placed the donuts in the backseat and then started the drive back home.
-At the loft-
I maneuvered my way to the elevator holding 4 and a half boxes of donuts. I made it and waited until I got to the top floor.
As I got out I could hear some of the pack from all the way out here. I gently knocked in the door, since I couldn’t open it. The door slide open and the boxes were thankfully taken from my grasp.
“Thanks Scott,” I smiled at the alpha. “Kitchen if you please, and put the little box somewhere away from prying hands.”
“Sure thing,” he grinned and went to said place.
“Momma!” Liam ran over to me, nearly knocking me over.
“Hey there pup,” I hugged him in return. “You doing okay?”
“Mhm,” he scented me and tried pulled me towards the couch.
“Donuts are in the kitchen,” I announced, both packs darted to grab a donut before they were all gone.
Derek came out of the kitchen, looking a little disheveled, “they’re animals.”
I laughed and walked over to the sofa, “only over food.”
“Oh my god!” Isaac yelled, running out of the kitchen with two donuts in hand. “How did you manage to steal these from heaven?” He hugged me as best he could without dropping the donuts.
“I have my ways,” I laughed.
“These are the best donuts I have ever tasted,” Stiles said over a mouthful of donut.
Derek sat next to me, pulling me into his lap and wrapped his arms around me protectively. Everyone commented on how great the donuts were, some of them came over to hug me as a thank you; Derek growled each time one of the wolves scented me.
“Down boy,” I kissed his cheek, effectively calming him. He nuzzled into my neck and pulled me closer to him.
The pack was in a rather good mood after that, some asked if I could buy more donuts. Lydia offered to drive, Isaac wanted to tag along to help; we were almost out the door but not everything ends up the way you want it.
“Momma, I don’t feel too good,” Liam called out.
I turned around and saw his face covered with chocolate specs, my eyes widened and I hurried over to him, “how many did you eat?”
He looked at the ground.
“Oh Liam,” I lead him to the couch, “didn’t Scott tell you chocolate is toxic to werewolves?”
“No,” he whispered.
I turned to Scott. “It never came up,” he defended.
“Der can you go get the medication,” he got up and walked to our bedroom.
“You have medication?” Lydia asked.
“I’ve had it ever since Isaac accidentally ate chocolate,” I recounted.
“I didn’t mean to eat it,” Isaac moved closer to me, a little put off by the attention.
“I know sweetie,” I took hold of his hand and gave it a gentle squeeze.
“Liam,” Derek came back, sitting next to the beta, “mind giving me your arm?” Lia stretched his arm towards Derek, who injected the meds into the his bloodstream. “You’ll be fine in about an hour,” he placed his arm back.
Liam hummed and laid his head on my lap. “I’ll send you the address to the place,” I looked to Lydia who nods and takes Stiles with her. I pull out my phone and send her the message, telling her to get me chocolate sprinkles.
I look down at Liam who managed to take a nap and started running my fingers through his hair. Isaac lays his head on my shoulder and Derek sits in front of my legs, Boyd and Erica on either side of him.
Scott sits next to Liam, Kira to his right. Mason sits on Isaacs left, and Malia lays on the floor. We watch tv until the donuts get back.
