I hope you dont mind me adding onto this but all I've ever used was masking tape that I'd stick to an old shirt or something to make it less sticky and I've never had a problem with torn paper.

I’ve done this before too, yeah!  :D  Sometimes I’ll tack it lightly to my forearm first.  It’s a good trick if you can’t seem to find a brand/type that works for you.  Thanks for chiming in!
