In spring we like to go for a walk in Petrisberg, Trier’s biggest park. The neighbourhood seems taken from an architecture magazine for modern living – individual houses for doctors, lawyers or designers. A real estate company says the district’s motto is “work downstairs – live upstairs”. Its cleanliness, safeness and weal gives me a mild envy feeling, but sometimes I picture it with a Lynchian twist, or as a scene for one of Paul Delvaux’s pictures.
