Relieving Tensions (Dori/Dain)
He had steeled himself so far- he couldn't back out just now.
Inhaling deeply and taking up his polished cane (and making sure that his best coat had no fluff or hair on it) he shut the door of the royal apartments behind him and locked the it twice. There wasn't any going back inside.
As King Dain took off out of the royal quarters and down into the affluent market, he thought he could feel all eyes on him despite there being nothing wrong with his presence there that evening. He might simply have wanted to do some shopping, catch the last deals before the vendors shut shop, or wanted to see some friends...
He cringed a little inside still at the knowledge of where he was going- but surely no one else knew. No one else would see him, at this time, stop outside the heavy mahogany door of Dori's parlours. The street was mercifully deserted and out of the way, and the back door had a bit shading the caller from the eyes of the street.
Dain checked back over his shoulder, and, satisfied no one else was there, knocked three times.
