Is it true that Belle's provincial village is going to be name Villeneuve after the author of the original "Beauty and the Beast" book? I believe I read that somewhere...

I read that too, in the live action i think they are naming it that as an homage to the original novel.

I am kind of hoping that LeFou sides with the good guys in this version. I've often heard of fans wanting Gaston to have his own redemption arc, but I think it would interesting if LeFou actually did have one in the upcoming movie.

This Gaston isn’t going to get redeemed I guarantee it, if anything I think he’ll be even more irredeemably awful by the end (judging from the spoilers I’ve heard so far, and from what Luke Evans has said). 

But yeah, I’m with you, it would be kind of nice if the slimy little yes-man with the enormous crush on Gaston actually learned to think for himself and did the right thing for a change. It would be an interesting twist. It might also kind of reinforce the theme of people being capable of changing for the better, if they put in the effort and if they have someone believing they can do it. Maybe?

Or who knows, maybe this Le Fou will be even more evil and manipulative than his animated counterpart. I don’t think so, but we’ll have to wait and see.

1/2 I have another headcanon, (based off of the scene where Beast gives Belle his enourmous library) that Beast is all about grand romantic gestures. He's the kind of guy who proclaims his love for his wife from the rooftops, and he probably belts

Yes, the Beast/prince is definitely the kind of guy for romantic gestures, he can pretend all he wants that he’s aloof and dignified but really he’s a total sap at heart and he doesn’t care who knows how much he adores his wife. Some of the other nobles find it sickening that they’re so happy together. (Mostly because they’re just jealous.)

I do like to think that the Beast/prince is kind of shy about singing, though, despite having a nice voice (hence only having the one verse in “Something There”). And Belle kind of has to coax him out of his shell in that respect. I love the idea of the Beast knowing how to play piano (thanks @theteaisaddictive for that headcanon, it’s sort of a plot point in her story “A Rose’s Thorn” because he starts teaching Belle, and it’s adorable). Maybe he would compose a song for her for their anniversary one year.

I don’t think he keeps one-upping himself in terms of giving lavish gifts, but he does always try to think of something thoughtful and insightful, because he just really loves watching Belle’s face light up with surprise and delight.

I sort of have this headcanon that Beast retains some of his heigtened senses, to a certain degree, after he transforms back into a human, like stronger hearing, for example.

That would be an interesting twist. It would be rather disconcerting–and frustrating–for him to get used to heightened senses and enormous strength as a beast, and then suddenly back to the mundane human physiology and its limitations. But I like the idea of some of his “beast-like” qualities lingering even after the spell is broken, and never entirely going away. 

(Then again, I also like to imagine the prince trying to leap down the entire staircase like he used to as a beast, and epically failing. And Belle trying not to laugh.)

I hate the idea of "it was all a dream" plot twists, but if the writers of Sherlock said that most of series 4 was just a dream and retconned most of it in a new series, I would be fine.

Honestly the only way to redeem series 4 would be to say it was all a dream. That’s how bad it is.

Wow, you got that topic video done really quickly! What's funny is that my sister and I actually missed S4E1+E2, so when we watched S4E3 we were really confused. We enjoyed bits and pieces of it, but for the most part we kept laughing and saying "this is really weird!" over and over again.

I would have gotten it up sooner if I wasn’t busy on Sunday. 

It honestly doesn’t really make much of a difference if you watched The Six Thatchers and The Lying Detective or not because The Final Problem is so disconnected from them they may as well be from different shows. I was totally lost while watching The Final Problem and kept groaning at the bad fanfic level writing. Even the occasional good scenes felt really out of place.
