Camp dinner
This is a plein air painting of the Dosewallips River in the Olympic National Park. An absolutely beautiful, wild place. We went camping the hottest day of the year, it was supposed to be around 114 degrees, but because of the fresh snowmelt filling the river, the water was freezing and it made the whole area around it a cool 70-80 degrees. I wish I had spent more time painting, and I definitely plan to get back out there and do more paintings of the Olympic Peninsula. One thing about this painting that was tricky was capturing just how fast the water was moving and how powerful it was.
