dottewa replied to your post: It’s two in the morning and I’m here downloading...
I mean I deleted a bunch of fics that I wrote for people either during awful times in my life or turned out to be awful people in my life. I’d rather they not exist when they came from such unhealthy places, and the fact that Wayback Machine made some of them permanent drives me mad. It’s like I’m not allowed to take back my stories, a final slight against my recovering.
I absolutely get it, and I mean it when I say that I fully support the right to take your stories down. I recognized some of the stories that I can’t find anymore and some of those will be missed but I can appreciate why they needed to be gone. some others I can imagine why. One of those stories is a fic that is incredibly painful to read and absolutely unhealthy and disturbing, and yet it made me feel like I wasn’t alone. It’s gone, I think I know why and also have an inkling of when. Can’t say it won’t be missed. And yet I feel horribly selfish in thinking this way. At least by downloading everything I’m keeping it all safely hidden away and not keeping it up online, if something else were to be taken down. I am at least marginally less evil than wayback machine, I hope so.

didn't we already know the plot? It's let's stop Thanos, right?
I mean yeah, it is, but I meant as in I now know exactly what they do, who lives, who dies and how the whole thing ends

Remove the fluids and just focus on motions and it works like any other exercise and/or dance scene.
Thinking of it as a dance scene should help. In my mind I was thinking, do it like a fight scene, but that would probably only work for messed up relationships.
dottewa replied to your post “practical brain: queerbaiting is a manipulative cash-grab gay brain:...”
It's true it's clear it won't happen, but the fandom has been pushing for it since the book first came out and Gaiman has only encouraged it. The queerbaiting is coming from author's notes, and the only reason he's not being treated the same as JKR is because he's fandom saavy.
Yeah I haven’t followed his interviews or anything enough to have a firm stance on this-- I don’t know what he said, but I personally don’t see the harm in authors saying “it’s cool if you read the relationship like this” or even “that’s not how we intended it but it’s awesome that you’re relating to it”, -- especially since in GO it’s somewhat ambiguous in the text, and we’re talking about beings that are technically sexless.
He’s definitely more fandom savvy, but there’s also a lot of built up resentment to JKR that is somewhat justified and causes people to flip out at everything she does (though I have a lot of mixed feelings on Tumblr’s hateboner for her, considering George RR Martin and George Lucas have pulled a lot of the same shit and gotten a pass, but that’s a debate for another day.)
dottewa replied to your post “I cant believe liam named his character “live and tell” that bastard”
even more amazingly the entire chat missed that reference.
I only got it once liam pronounced it more “dramatically” and I was like...hold on a second... did he seriously do that? and lo and behold
dottewa replied to your post “OH so apparently the reason i see square enix called squaresoft online...”
No, the company was squaresoft worldwide. They bought Eidos Games and Tricore Games back in like 2000 and became SquareEnix to diversify the merger, even though they then cancelled most of the eidos brands and the only Tricore game they still make is Star Ocean.
ohhh ok. i was going off the wiki page, which said that had been the name of the american branch before it was renamed to square enix. apparently it was the european square enix which merged with eidos, but apparently tri-ace (since they’re the ones who developed star ocean, according to wiki?) are still around, though barely
god i hate how complicated most studios’ history are, it feels like practically everyone was merging every five seconds in the late nineties and early noughties

Okay the way it read to me was like if all MCU fics were A2G swap outs for TWW fics and I was SO lost, but this makes sense because this is how fandom works.
Yeah I just think it’s funny because there’s so many and its the same crossover
(of course Clark Gregg was also in TWW so that helps)
