waow, it has been hectic! i’m taking a couple of minutes to breath and reflect on the past week ☺️

basically, this week was “freshers’ week”, meaning that i moved to uni! the whole moving experience was nerve-racking to say the least, between my ikea delivery (spoilers: i will have to wait for a few days before being able to fully cook or even sleep on a pillow 🙃), the full enrollment process and the general stress about a whole new life 😬

however, despite a rough start, this week has been amazing! i already met incredible people with whom i can’t wait to spend the year, from my roommates to my classmates and even random students 🥰 uni truly is a place where you can meet people with such a diverse and cultural background!

also, freshers’ week itself was so interesting 🙌🏻 my university had organised a couple of events and fairs which were made even better by my new friends ✨

on another note, law school officially starts on monday! i can’t believe that this new chapter of my life is starting and can’t wait to learn 💙

re-reading Sherlock Holmes, anyone else here also addicted to Sir Conan Doyle? 🙋🏻‍♀️

hello everyone! ☀️

it’s now week two of law school! first, one that i’ve discovered: the cliché that law students read all the time ... isn’t a cliché! we had so many pages to read it’s insane - nearly 100 pages of compulsory reading for 1 tutorial of public for instance 📚

thankfully the materials are pretty interesting and i take some time to write down notes about everything so that i can make a complete document at the end of the chapter for my exam 🤓

finally in London! 🇬🇧 i almost missed a flight because my previous one was late, and nearly lost one of my luggage but i’m finally here! however, the 34h journey exhausted me, not to mention jet lag 😴

while walking around and doing some grocery shopping, i stumbled across this building at a junction 🤩 overall, i really am falling in love with the architecture here, despite it being rather heterogeneous 🏛

also, my hotel is the cutest 🥰 i will stay there for two weeks before moving into uni campus. currently listening to “Best Part” by Daniel Caesar ft H.E.R. and i’m already low key dozing off into sleep 💤

taking a little break from law school to explore london! 💙

visited the Wallace collection with a friend of mine - it’s definitely my favorite place in london 🤩 every room is incredibly beautiful - not to say photogenic - and the art is incredible!

today i finally got to visit the British Museum! 🤩 it has been a dream of mine ever since i was 6. my dad and i would watch an art tv show every thursday night and they ran a documentary about the museum. i swore on that day that i would visit it before turning 18 💛

unfortunately, i was carrying a lot of my photography equipment + i didn’t have the appropriate ways of transporting them. i ended up with huge pain all across my neck, shoulders and back, which made me so sick that i had to back to the hotel in the afternoon 😔

however, the entrance is free and since i’ll spend the 3 years of my degree in London i’ll try to go back as soon and often as i can! 🏺

also, i’ve been craving green tea all day, alongside with listening to Adele 🍵 is it because i’m now becoming a stereotype or just because Adele is one of the best singers worldwide? 🤷🏻‍♀️

that being said, i should really go to sleep as i have a huge workload programmed for tomorrow - might be a sunday but career doesn’t wait! 🤓

today was studying day! i’m slowly trying to get my groove back after the holidays + the trip and boi it is hard 😩 i tried to make myself the blackest coffee ever known to existence but even this didn’t wake me up enough to face the Watson-Glaser test properly 🥴 who those of you who do not know, it is a critical thinking test often used by law firms for recruitment. as i would like to apply to a couple of open days or opportunities this year, i feel like i need to start getting the hang of it, especially since my French baccalaureate was centered around sciences and not law 📚

also, if you haven’t recognised it, my little Pop comics is Sabrina Spellman ⚡️ my best friend and i are obsessed with the Netflix show and he give it to me when i moved 🧳

after this morning session, i decided to walk around a bit, especially since it was so sunny ☀️ i feel like St Paul’s Cathedral is impressive from every single angle 🤩

as always, i’m already half asleep while writing this, and i’ve been listening the “Jazz for Sleep” playlist on Spotify 🎷 would highly recommend!

repost because my computer messed up the layout

today was a v productive day! ☀️

i spent my entire morning on putting together a document with all the informations that i would need for the Bright Network First Year Lawyers Top 100 event on wednesday 👩🏻‍⚖️ i will be meeting 10 law firms for which i could possibly work for in the future - therefore, i have to make sure that everything is on my side! i made a nearly 30 pages long document full of informations found on their websites and questions. i truly hope that i will have everything that i need when meeting with them 📚

also, on the same day, i will be attending a breakfast at Slaughter and May, one of London’s leading law firm 🤩 i’m also excited to meet such important people and get a taste of what working at a such influential commercial law firm is like 💛

for lunch, i grabbed a burger and some fries (cheat meal anyone? 🙋🏻‍♀️) and sat in the sun while listening to the BBC’s podcast “The Reith Lectures with Lord Sumption”. it is part of my preparatory work for my public law class. unfortunately, because of traffic, i couldn’t hear everything properly but i will take some time later to listen again and take some notes 📝

the sun was shining today and reading in front of St Paul’s cathedral afterwards was a real pleasure 🥰

final preparations for the Bright Network event! i‘m a firm believer that there’s no such thing as being too much prepared 👩🏻‍💻

i make for each firm a condensed version of my digital file full of research - the paper one has the most important informations such as mottos, chairman, opportunities for undergrads as well as the questions i’d like to ask 🤓

still can’t believe my career will start tomorrow!
