#DiplomacyMoment: 2014 in Review
How will 2014 be remembered? As a year of triumph and tragedy. Olympic athletes achieved glory in Sochi and the 50-year standoff between the United States and Cuba was ended. Yet the Ebola virus spread ferociously across West Africa, killing thousands of innocent victims and endangering national economies. ISIL spread a different kind of terror across the Middle East and other terrorists killed more than 100 schoolchildren in Peshawar and kidnapped hundreds of schoolgirls in Nigeria. But two advocates for education also won the Nobel Peace Prize, highlighting our shared international belief in the rights of children.
How will 2014 be remembered? Assistant Secretary Doug Frantz shares his thoughts on DipNote.
