Last week's art batch~
Here's last week's line up of art! Featuring two variants of bread dough growing out of hand and a more nostalgic piece with a cat-themed hoodie and a street-lit evening.
I'm a sucker for drawing the night sky with a subtle swirl to it. Adding circles/swirls to the perspective are also a lot of fun ^^
In other news, I went to a Rare Kandi rave a few days ago. With the right people, it's a great time that can really bring out your inner kid, even if you're not one for loud dance scenes.
The experience gave me quite a few art ideas. But my overseas trip/family business is eating up my brain cells/free time now, so I'll probably have to wait until March. -_-
about 15 minutes before my first Introduction to Judaism class that my synagogue is hosting! I'd be on zoom anyways because of where I live, but everyone is going to be on zoom because of state coronavirus restrictions (just announced today).
It's the first one ever (I THINK) hosted by my synagogue because so many people are interested in conversion all at once. Like me, I guess? I got in at a good time, but I also was asking about it 2020 lol
cries softly i am unable 2 make the physical conversion classes - but I might be able to make the zoom ones im so excited? if mt rabbi is allowing me 2do do
I'm just going to ramble about going to a service for the first time!
It was so beautiful. However it was different from normal since the Australasian (aus+nz at least) service for the union of progressive Judaism was being streamed! The into was long, and we didn't get to the parsha until 2h in. The stream stopped two times. At about noon (the service started at 10:30am) thirty the rabbi just changed to a normal service and stopped the stream.
It all was beautiful. I didn't know how beautiful the words of the Torah were out loud - like the most beautiful music.
Afterwards everyone partook in challah and wine. I didn't like the taste of the wine (I am a sweet tooth!) but the challah was LOVELY. SO GOOD
I finally reached out to the only local reform rabbi in my state (I live in the metro outskirts of the state capital) and she's reached back! The rabbi says that before conversion I should attend services - I really want to do that also, so win-win! I hope the information I have provided is enough for her, or if I'll need to provide more.
