Alaska History

This week in Alaska History: On October 31, 1935, the ferry service between Juneau and Douglas, was discontinued. The service began in 1880 to allow people to travel between the two locations across the Gastineau Channel. The Juneau-Douglas bridge was complete October 13, 1935 and replaced in 1981.
