The thing about New Japan Pro Wrestling is that you will spend years dunking on Douki (or Taichi or Master Wato or whichever total loser of your choice) but then one day something like El Desperado giving him an inspirational speech will make you super invested in him winning just one more match at that year's Best of Super Juniors and before you know it you are praying and crying and cheering hoping he wins this whole damn thing.
