the 3d modeling in acnh doesn’t get enough appreciation honestly. like i don’t think people understand it takes skill and effort and probably a lot of trial and error to design the friend shaped toy scale stuff you see in the final product; simplifying and deforming things into a smaller scale is not an easy task, let alone doing so while keeping an incredible amount of small details like what acnh has. i fully believe that the long gap after new leaf was mostly spent on designing and modeling and texturing all this stuff. it’s wonderful

the hha ratings are def the weirdest part of acnh for me. because of how insanely customizeable everything is, not only are players more inclined to be creative instead of following any set of standards, but it's also harder to be aware of standards at all. the only thing similar to the hha rating is isabelle's island rating which the player has to explicitly ask for to know. but the hha can just fill my mailbox every week about how my room doesn't follow color themes and it sucks. i don't find it egregious, rather just weird in the context of the game's design, esp how it continues into the time when the player gives even less of a shit about keeping up their island rating
