Kinda like a Dove Release, but way better.
Release
We thank them in the ceremony for helping us let go of our pets as they fly free into the sky, and it almost felt as if our pets were communicating back to us that they found it difficult to leave.
Doves On Sunday, I was part of a Pet Memorial Sunday celebration with a customer who performs pet cremations. I am also her customer, so there is always a lot of remembering there. The final part of the ceremony is a release of six white doves, lovingly managed by their caretaker. They are calm and friendly doves, and I always get to hold one of them. They usually circle three to five times then…

Who Stole the Rings!- Weddings by Great Officiant Michael Thieling
Kelly and Alvand
Married on July 18, 2014 at The Portofino – Redondo Beach
There’s a first time for everything and nothing proves that more than Kelly and Alvand’s wedding. I went about performing a ring warming for them and their guests but when it was time to exchange rings I asked their guests where they had been passed to and there was silence. I made a little joke saying “What, no one wants to give them back?” to which everyone laughed but still, silence as to their actual whereabouts. Finally after what seemed like forever, the bride’s aunt raised her hand saying “Someone handed me rings but I didn’t know what to do with them.” It seems she decided they were gifts that all the guests had gotten and because she came in a little late she hadn’t heard the ring warming explanation.
Everyone got a great kick out of it and it added such a memorable, albeit tense, moment to a beautiful ceremony.
Congrats guys!
Elizabeth & Brian
Married on July 19, 2014 at the Huntington Harbor Yacht Club
Elizabeth and Brian were awesome to work with! They had a beautiful, straight forward ceremony with a little twist and first for me – a dove release!
I worked separately with the bridesmaids and groomsmen and Mitch Todd (owner of OCDoves.com) to organize everyone and choreograph how the release would happen. The ceremony went off without a hitch and I think the video of the dove release speaks for itself:
After their wedding they wrote us this lovely review:
“We had Michael T. as our Officiant and he did an amazing job. He was flexible in scheduling meetings with my husband and I and was very helpful in answering all the questions we had. The main website has many templates of readings and what is said during wedding ceremonies and Michael helped us find the perfect combination of things to accommodate what we were looking for. Michael was very prompt in sending us emails with the revisions of the ceremony and also gave us different sources of readings to look at. He speaks well and has very good stage presence! We felt extremely comfortable with him and took a liking to him automatically.”
Thanks so much guys – it was my pleasure!
Gail & John
Married on July 19, 2014 at a Private Residence
Gail and John had a very simple, private ceremony at their friend’s house in the beautiful Corona del Mar. As the sun set into the ocean in the background, their friends cheered after their “I Do’s.” I was so jealous that I didn’t get to stay for the amazing food provided by a private personal chef.
I give you all my best!
