The Bodyguard (1992). A former Secret Service agent takes on the job of bodyguard to an R&B singer, whose lifestyle is most unlike a President's.

There were a lot of great romantic thrillers in the early 90s, but tragically despite Whitney Houston's talent, charisma and voice, this is not one of them. It's weirdly sexless, overwrought, and the plot is pretty nonsensical? It's a shame, because it does feel like there's a great, of the era movie in here somewhere, but man, this is not it. The soundtrack is truly killer though. 5/10.

"Are you and Dad... Okay? Are you still in love?"

"O-Of course! Why would you ask something like that?"

"I mean, you guys live on different planets, and the Earth TV Uncle Blades shows me says that if your parents love each other, they live together."

"Oh... I see. Well, the reason we don't is because fuel is expensive right now. I work here on Cybertron, your father works on Earth, and so to be traveling back and forth for one of us would be too costly. So I live here, he lives there, and we come together in person periodically."

"Like today?"

"Like today."

Quickshadow left the conversation at that, hoping that Hotshot wouldn't ask- again- why his father always came to Cybertron and they never went to Earth. She was running out of excuses, out of half-truths to explain herself, instead of being completely honest with him... That it was for his own protection.

I’ve been working on another Andrea & TK fic and was also inspired by the episode this week, here’s a little snippet :) 

“Tyler” TK’s voice is so quiet she barely catches it.

“What was that mi amor?” 

He pauses, she can see the shifting emotions on his face. He’s clearly warring with himself on whether to repeat what he said or to pretend it was nothing. She waits patiently giving him the choice. 

“My name, it’s Tyler. My mom was the only one to ever call me that, usually when it was just her and I. It’s weird, I’ve been TK for a long time and I like TK, but I guess I just miss Tyler and I .. well I don’t know, I wanted you to know.” 

Andrea is a bit shocked at the confession, aside from some teasing remarks  about TK’s name from Gabriel to Carlos when they met TK as Carlos’ boyfriend they haven’t pried. She understands what a deeply personal thing a name can be and she has always respected that “TK” is the man in front of her.

“Tyler, that’s a nice name, strong, yet peaceful.” TK smiles ruefully at her.

“Ha, not sure I’d call myself peaceful, my mom used to mostly say my full name when she was exasperated with me.” 

“Sounds like a typical mother.” Andrea chuckles softly, “Carlos has always hated it when I pull out the full name.” 

TK perks up at that, glancing at her curiously. She’s surprised that TK may not know Carlos’ full name, she was sure her boys shared everything. Then again, what is a name, but who you want to be.

Yes, this is part of the “WIPs that I might never complete” collection.

An AU where Norman and Emma aren’t there for Ray (they might be sent to different plantation). In this AU, Isabella who’s afraid of Ray rebelling and getting hurt (just like how heartbroken she was when she found out the truth herself), is doing her best to control Ray using the Stockholm Syndrome-based technique. She committed herself to always being the most stern with Ray, giving Ray the hardest punishments, while also giving the occasional affection to him in an attempt to make him attached the most to her so he won’t be rebelling. Ray ended up growing up spending most his life trying to impress Isabella because he’s jealous and hurt seeing how other children getting more affection from his mother. In the day of Ray’s shipment, Isabella finally lost it all and embracing out of the blue, telling him that she actually always loved him the most and all she did was for his own sake. Ray then told her that he’s happy even though he knew he’s going to be eaten by a demon later, because he finally got the thing he craved the most all his life (his mother’s love).
