Peyton: After careful consideration, I’ve narrowed it down to two!

Peyton: Option one: Labrador Retriever. They’re intelligent, compassionate and cute as a button. They like adventure and at times can maaaybe do things without thinking (it’s not a bad thing, I promise!), but they’re also really happy to put their head in your lap at the end of a long day.

Peyton: That sounds sexual. It wasn’t meant to be 🙈

Peyton: Option two: Golden Retriever! This is my favourite one for you. Those dogs are some of the most passionate, warm, caring balls of love I’ve ever met. They stand up for the people they love, unapologetically, they want to form strong connections with everyone, but they always have the people in the world who they count on the most. They know what you need before you even realize you need it, and they’re one of those breeds of dogs who are loyal to a fault. They’ll run (or shop) with you for hours, but when you need to sit down and watch TV and eat dog treats, they’re totally down for that too.

Micah wasn’t really sure what he was doing. Boutique shops weren’t really his venue of choice, and he and Tyler weren’t particularly close anymore. They’d been friends in high school, banged it out a couple of times. But she’d skipped town and so had he. That was that. He wasn’t above supporting an old friend though. Plus things like this usually had free champagne, and, while he usually preferred beer or hard liquor, free booze was free booze. So there he was, browsing the racks and keeping an eye out for Tyler.
