Rural Illinois mood board because the world is on fire and I keep finding myself wistfully reminiscing about my childhood which was actually pretty terrible but is somehow a source of comfort in these uncertain times.
Like my parents were totally emotionally absent and highly ableist and my Mom was often abusive but my life was also predictable and stable and I was materially cared for. Maybe that’s what I miss. The predictability.
